As a result of our project Vision for Education, 4OC is able to educate and therefore improve the lives of many learners (a lot being adults).
Because of COVID, learning has became a lot more difficult as it is now shifted remotely. However, my peers and I have access to the internet and education at our fingertips. Therefore, my 4OC volunteers and I are using the education we are given to teach reading, math, computer skills, and English as a Second Language (ESL) for teen or adult learners. Thanks to the Siena Literacy Center, we will now be able to improve the lives of families in northwest Metropolitan Detroit by providing this basic education for them!
4OC's partnership project: Tackle on Hunger
Through our project Tackle on Hunger, 4OC is distributing more than 300 food boxes of perishable food items over the coming few months to numerous soup kitchens and food agencies all over Michigan!
Each food box has more than 21 pounds of perishable good items in each!!
Thanks to our helper organization Lighthouse, we are receiving weekly shipments of around 25-30 of these food boxes. The boxes come directly from the USDA, and are provided to help those in need.
